Optical Thin Film Technician
WORKING HOURS
- Full Time
- 40 hours per week
JOB DESCRIPTION
- This position requires the operation of modern thin-film vacuum
deposition equipment using thermal, electron beam, and ion-assisted
deposition techniques
- The ideal candidate will also have a knowledge and capability of precision
cleaning of delicate optical components prior to optical coating
- This position involves both hand cleaning and the operation of ultrasonic
washing equipment
- Unwrapping and preparation of incoming goods for optical coating, general
lab work, and preparation of coated optics for shipping is required
- Good eyesight, manual dexterity, and attention to detail are a must
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Optical coatings background is preferred, but similar backgrounds in vacuum
deposition for electronic or computer devices are equally acceptable
- Experience of 1+ years is desirable
- Experience in the handling of optics is required
- Knowledge of optical measurements using spectrophotometers is a plus
