ISP Optics Corporation was incorporated in State of New York in 1993.
ISP Optics Corporation is a vertically integrated manufacturer offering a full range of the infrared products from high performance MWIR and LWIR Lens Assemblies to catalog and custom infrared optical elements.

Our infrared IR Lens Assembly product line includes continuous zoom, dual FOV and fixed focal length lenses  for cooled and un-cooled cameras including designs targeted for light weight and compact models.

 ISP Optics manufactures in-house precision optical components including spherical, aspherical and diffractive coated IR lenses.  In addition to our built-to-print optical elements product line, we also offer custom opto -mechanical assemblies, coatings and diamond turning services along with  IR catalog optics.  We manufacture optics from various infrared crystals  such as: Ge, Si, ZnS, ZnSe,  CaF2, GaAs, BaF2, Amtir, GASIR, IG5 and others.

Our manufacturing processes utilize CNC Grinding, Diamond Turning, Continuous and Conventional Polishing, Optical Contacting, advanced coating and design technologies to deliver consistent top quality solutions that serve the growing industry demands with an unwavering commitment to our world-wide customers.

 We "measure what we make" and utilize top of the line technologies and metrology tools including IR MTF Station to verify customer specifications.

FTIR materials are grown in-house including NaCl and KBr to manufacture build-to-print  optical elements  for the FTIR market and KBr lenses for wideband imaging applications.

ISP Optics is ISO 9001-2008 certified and DDTC registered company, fully compliant with ITAR requirements.

Meet the Team

Joseph Menaker, PhD – President

Mark Lifshotz - CEO

Joseph and Mark co-founded ISP Optics in 1993. School friends from their days in grammar school, they have advanced degrees in Economics and Physics respectively and decided to put their academic background, work experience and entrepreneurial drive to good use by establishing a business of their own.  They started small, worked long hours, hired the right people and the result is present day ISP Optics.  Today Joseph and Mark share the day to day responsibility of overseeing this transatlantic enterprise while also nurturing their newest project, UAV Factory, a manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles, established in 2010, which is located in Latvia.


Rasvana Popescu – VP of Operations

Rasvana is the longest serving veteran of ISP Optic’s New York operation, having joined the company in 1998.  She is a key member of the ISP Optics team and distinguishes herself by her knowledge, dedication and work ethic which have been instrumental in our growth over the years.

After graduating with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering she started her career as a Production Engineer, manufacturing radio stations for commercial and military applications. She then moved on to operations, learning the role of each piece in the big puzzle that constitutes the operations of a manufacturing business

When she joined ISP Optics, Rasvana was able to apply both her technical and operational knowledge in a big way. From the very beginning she acted as liaison with the overseas production facilities and was instrumental in organizing the purchasing, planning, shipping and customer service departments. Over the ensuing years her supervisory responsibilities continued to expand as the manufacturing capabilities at ISP Optics continued to evolve.

In her current role as VP of Operations, Rasvana is responsible for integrating the manufacturing capacities of our two facilities with a focus on the quality and timely delivery of our customer’s orders.  Rasvana is responsible for establishing, implementing and monitoring the procedures required to ensure an efficient manufacturing operations.


Joe Washer - Production Manager

With ISP Optics Corporation since 2006, Joe has over 20 years of hands on experience in precision optical manufacturing and applications. Joe started his career in precision manufacturing after finishing his studies at Keene State College and at NH Technical College in 1993. After a short stint working as a Senior Quality Assurance Tech for KLA-Tencor, Joe worked as a Field Service Engineer and Senior Applications Engineer, first for Ametek Precitech and then for Moore Nanotechnology Systems in Keene NH.  In these roles, Joe travelled the world visiting and working with customers in the commercial, government and research markets.  These visits would typically involve customer training on the theory and operation of diamond turning and grinding machines and exposed Joe to many different types of optical applications on many different IR and visible materials.

In his current role as Production Manager Joe manages both the diamond turning and assembly departments and is primarily responsible for maintaining our ISO 90001 designation.  He earned his Six Sigma Green Belt certification in December 2013 from the American Society of Quality.  Additionally, Joe has been instrumental in the implementation and maintenance of ISP’s integrated ERP software and oversees the generation of many different kinds of manufacturing reports which serve to continually improve our efficiency and quality.

His dedication and varied skill set make Joe an invaluable member of our manufacturing team.


Myeong Nam – Director of Coating

Myeong came on board in 2009 as a senior coating engineer and was promoted to his current position in 2010. He is responsible for all aspects of our coating operations. Myeong studied spectroscopy and material stress while earning both MS and BS degrees in Material Science and Engineering. As a senior   research engineer he published a paper and was granted a patent for developing a process for fabricating a joint seal between evacuated glass and the copper tubing used in solar collectors. Later on as a coating supervisor he developed his expertise in IR/UV/Visible precision optics and complex assemblies for commercial and military applications.

After 15 years in the industry Myeong continues to build upon his skill set. He recently developed a new IR coating designed for Chalcogenide optics as well as an IR transmission enhancing Hybrid DLC coating, both of which are valued additions the ISP Optics portfolio of coating designs.

From publishing white papers to creating new custom coating solutions, all while running an ever growing optical coating department, Myeong continues to distinguish himself as one of the industry’s leading innovators in the field of IR coating technology.


Deanna Erickson – Director of Finance & Administration

Deanna joined our team in 2011 after a long run at Diversified Optical Corp, Axsys Technologies and General Dynamics in New Hampshire (serial acquisitions).  Her work ethic and natural enthusiasm contributed to her rise up the ranks there, from an accountant to a valued senior member of the executive staff where she supervised the Accounting, Payroll and Human Resources departments while co-supervising the Cost accounting department.

While at DiOP, Deanna was instrumental in the implementation of the Infor Visual ERP system.  Her experience in this area is invaluable and she has continued to add to it with various classes and certifications. She has applied her knowledge of the ERP system to customizing and fine tuning our ever evolving reporting process.  This has led to immeasurable benefits for management through the production of timely, detailed cost accounting and financial statement reports.

15 years of varied, high level experience, exclusively in the world of infrared optics manufacturing made Deanna a uniquely qualified and valued member of our senior executive team.


Jacob Oh - Sales Manager

Jacob joined the team at ISP Optics in November 2013 after more than fifteen years of selling & marketing optical components & coatings at Lambda Research Optics and Princeton Instruments’ Acton Optics & Coating division.

After completing the Aerospace Engineering undergraduate program at Boston University's College of Engineering in 1997, Jacob jumped straight into the optics industry as a Materials Engineer.  Shortly thereafter he transitioned into sales and marketing, moving up the ranks from Sales Engineer to Sr. Sales Engineer to Assistant  Sales Manager, and then to Marketing Manager.

At ISP Optics Jacob applies his years of industry experience to oversee an international sales force and network of distributors while traveling to many US states and foreign countries to build valued relationships with customers.  He has been instrumental in growing our business by expanding our customer base and providing creative IR optics solutions which meet or exceed expectations.

Fujian Ding, PhD – Chief Opto-Mechanical Designer

Fujian joined ISP Optics  team in 2013. He received his Ph.D. in optical engineering from Chinese Academy of Science and before ISP Optics worked as research scientist for USDA and University of Oklahoma. Fujian holds 7 patents in the area of fluorescence imaging and radiation dosimetry.

He brings over 25 years experience in the development of opto-mechanical systems, running the gamut from conceptual design and product development through calibration and performance testing.  His knowledge, skill, and experience in opto-mechanical & optical sub-system analysis, design and product development make him a very timely addition to our team.

In his short time here he has exhibited a unique talent for blending his mechanical, electro-optical and software engineering skills and this has led to very encouraging reception from those customers desiring various IR lens assembly configurations.  The IR lens assembly market promises to be the engine that drives the next phase of our corporate growth and Fujian is an invaluable contributor to that effort.
